Curious as to what happens when NUPS is contacted to investigate a location?  Thinking about asking NUPS to investigate your location but don’t know what is involved?

Here are the general guidelines as to how we handle the investigative process:

  1. Initial Contact - When you send a message to NUPS either by email, or on our MySpace or Facebook page, we will respond within 48 hours.  Usually we will ask you some follow up questions regarding your situation.  If we feel that we can help you, we will then move on to the next step.
  2. Scheduling – Our case manager will then contact you to set up a date o investigate your location.  If we feel your case is urgent, we will do our best to investigate within 3 weeks from the time of first inquiry.
  3. Phone or In Person Interview- A day or two before the scheduled investigation one of our investigators will meet with you in person, or over the phone to conduct the initial interview.  This allows us to get detailed information about the reported activity, and it also allows you to get a feel for what we do.
  4. Investigation – Our investigators will come to your residence or place of business.  There will never be less than 2 NUPS members present, and never more than what we feel the location will allow.  A typical investigation lasts approximately 4 hours, and this is flexible depending on the location, activity reported, and the wants/needs of our client.
  5. Evidence Review – After the investigation NUPS will carefully review all evidence collected and prepare a report for the client.  **NOTE** This is the most time intensive part of the entire process.  We will give you a time frame of when we expect to be finished.  This usually takes 2-4 weeks.
  6. Reveal – When we have completed our review and have everything compiled into a report we will contact you to set up a time in which we can show our findings to you.  If for whatever reason we cannot meet in person, we will send you all relevant info.

NUPS is extremely sensitive to the wants/needs of our clients.  We are able to keep everything 100% confidential.  The investigations you see on our website are those that we have recieved express permission to publicize.
